Q - How much does it cost?

A - 1-800-PACK-RAT segments its services in two major segments - Local Service and Long Distance Moving Services. The cost of each of these services differs depending on the originating location, the distance between zip codes, how many stops between locations and length of service.  We work very hard to stay competitive with our pricing, continuously analyzing costs to be able to provide best pricing.  In most cases, you can get a free online quote depending on the location and complexity of your situation.  We are currently matching PODS® price quotes.  If you are deciding between PACK-RAT and renting a truck, click here to learn more.   

Q - Where will the container be stored at my location, does it have to go on my driveway?

A - Our containers do not need to be stored in your driveway.  Our trucks can generally lay the Portable Storage container on any flat, weight bearing surface.

Q - I don’t have a driveway, do I need a permit to put a PACK-RAT container in front of my house?

A - In most cases you do not need a permit to have a storage container held in front of your home. However, you should consult your city or town hall for the local regulations.  You can also consult your local 1-800-PACK-RAT facility for more information.

Q - Will my stuff be safe?

A - Yes!  Our containers are constructed of steel.  And only you have the key to your container, whether it is on your property, in one of our storage facilities or enroute to you.  Our loading mechanism keeps your container level when being picked up and delivered for transport, which minimizes shifting and subsequent damage to your belongings.  We also offer Customer Protection Plans (CPP).  Learn more about our Customer Protection Plans.

Q - How long does it take to deliver?

A - In most cases we can schedule a delivery with 48 hours.

Q - What if I’m not happy with the service?

Q - Will you help me pack my container?

A - We have special relationships with third party moving companies who offer our customers great deals on helping them pack.  Contact us for more info!

Q - I don’t know where my new home will be.  Can you hold the unit for me?

A - Yes!  We have secured warehouses where you can store your full PACK-RAT Storage Container for as long as you like.

Q- Will you prorate for unused days?

A- We do not offer prorate services at this time. We will work with you to match your payments with your schedule. Our customer representatives will be happy to help you get the best value from your container!

Q- Can I manage my account online?

A- Yes, using MyPACK-RAT, you can manage your local moving and storage.
