Your schedule is our schedule. However, allow us to give you some guidance on the best way to pack your storage container like a pro, and get the most out of your storage space. Smart packing will allow you to gain the most of our portable storage containers.

Pack Efficiently

The best way to maximize your container space is to use the space efficiently. This is where you will get the most bang for your moving buck. The most important thing is to try and eliminate large amounts of empty space to reduce the risk of items shifting and sliding around, which will potentially cause damage to your belongings.

1. Large and heavy furniture items can double as a base to stack lighter items on top.

2. Secure fragile boxes by placing them under desks or between table legs.

3. Load mattresses first to fill the space from the floor to the ceiling.

4. Pack stuffed animals, pillows, and blankets into trash bags to use as padding for fragile items and to fill empty spaces in the container.

5. It helps to use as many boxes that are the same size as possible (pack them tightly together). This isn’t always possible, but it does make stacking very uniform, which makes for the most efficient use of space.

Transportation Tips

1. To prevent damaging furniture or other valuable items, pad the dolly with a blanket. Make sure the blanket doesn’t get wrapped up in the wheels.

2. To make it easier to lift heavy boxes, use a knife to cut hand holders on both sides of the boxes.

3. Keep your loading and unloading paths free of debris and any other trip hazards, too.

Protect Furniture

1. Keep mattresses clean and protected by covering with a fitted sheet or mattress protector.

2. Do not shrink wrap leather or suede furniture. Condensation between the leather or suede and the shrink wrap can create mold.

3. If you haven’t already used a spray-on fabric protector on your upholstery, this is a great time to start. It will protect the upholstery from spills and stains during your move and once you’ve moved in.
