Here Are Some Fun Facts About Fayetteville:

1. Fayetteville got its name humbly. Many of the city's early settlers were from the town of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and to honor their former home, named the new settlement Fayetteville. The city would become a major hub for settlers moving west to stop through for supplies.

2. While not based in Fayetteville proper, almost everyone in the city knows of the eponymous Walton family - creators of Walmart. Walmart is based out of nearby Bentonville, AR, however many of the local cultural centers were funded by donations from the Walton family.

3. Fayetteville is known for being the home to a relatively famous Arkansas resident. Before becoming the attorney general of Arkansas in 1976, little known at the time politician William Jefferson Clinton and his wife Hillary were married in Fayetteville on October 11, 1975. Just three years later, Clinton would become the second youngest governor in Arkansas history in 1978 at the age of 32. He would eventually become the United State's 42nd President in 1993.
